Cow Milk Haloumi Cheese
Tasmania's Westhaven haloumi cheese is a semi-hard, unripened, brined cheese made a cow’s milk. It has a high melting point and so can easily be fried or grilled. Rennet is used to curdle the milk in halloumi production, although no acid-producing bacteria are used in its preparation.
Tasmania’s Westhaven is an award-winning dairy manufacturer that has been operating for over 25 years. Located in the Tamar Valley in northern Tasmania, they produce a range of cow’s and goat’s milk yoghurt and cheese.
At Tasmania’s Westhaven, their aim is to produce products that are as close to nature as possible with no added colours, flavours or emulsifiers. The ingredients in their products, such as the fruit in their yoghurt, is sourced from local farmers.
