Pialligo Estate wines are an expression of regional style. The Canberra region's first wine was produced by settlers in the 1840s, who established small vineyards in the Gunning and Yass districts. Today, the tranquil rural countryside around the ACT is home to 140 vineyards, with more than 33 wineries located within 35 minutes of Canberra. The district’s vineyards cover an altitudinal range of 300 to 800 metres, producing award-winning cool climate wines.
