Pepe Saya Cultured Butter is a beautiful and nutrient dense health food that is rich in enzymes and has a strongly enhanced flavour from culturing. The term ‘Cultured’ means the butter has been produced from cream that has been fermented with lactic acid bacteria which helps the body to absorb important fat-soluble vitamins and minerals. Because it has matured, cultured butter contains an extra dose of micro-organisms making it a probiotic food. These tiny little bacteria actually already exist in our digestive system and help us break down what we eat. Cultured butters just give our bodies an additional probiotic boost.

Pepe Saya Cultured Butter is made from 100% Australian cream, fresh from a local farm: Country Valley Dairy in Picton, where the cows are pasture fed. It is cultured over a two-week period, churned, and then shaped by the hardworking and loving hands of Pepe Saya’s passionate team. The butter is top quality, not just in production, but also in texture, flavour and appearance.

Australia

Pepe Saya Buttery was started in 2010, with the dream of making a beautiful tasting Australian cultured butter and creating a shift towards using local butter. Made in a unique round pat with the iconic Pepe Saya head, the first rounds were sold at Carriageworks Farmers Markets in November 2010.

Their focus has always been on provenance and transparency. They source some of the best Australian cream and are passionate about building direct relationships with their farmers.
