Cacao Hunters was founded in Popayan, Colombia by Carlos Velasco and his Japanese business partner, a cacao expert with over 20 years in the industry. They work together with the local farm communities to identify and preserve native cacao varietals, which are then stored in genetic collections. Cacao Hunters is part of Cacao de Colombia's fine bean-to-bar brand, which highlights the origins and communities from which cacao is acquired.
