Named after a valley in the High mountain of the French Alps where the cheese is made cheese. The smooth hard rind has a lovely russet colour from the light brine washing it receives during maturation. Abondance is a cheese with a long history. The texture is smooth and with a creamy rich texture and a melting fruity flavour . Like many other alpine cheeses, Abondance has a floral flavor with undertones of hazelnuts and nice acidity. Its flavors linger on the tongue.
