Cumberland Sausage with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy

Ingredients:

  • 3 Cumberland sausages (300g)
  • 4 large potatoes
  • 50g butter
  • 100ml milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 500ml beef stock

Instructions:

  1. In a pan, cook the sausages over medium heat until browned and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Peel and chop the potatoes. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper.
  3. In the same pan used for the sausages, add sliced onion and cook until soft. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add beef stock, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  4. Place the mashed potatoes on a plate, top with sausages, and pour gravy over the top.
  5. Optionally, garnish with fresh herbs like parsley.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy your meal!
