Granny Smith Apple Pie
Ingredients:
- 6 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 package of pie crusts (top and bottom)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, flour, and lemon juice. Mix well to coat the apples evenly.
- Roll out one pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie dish. Pour the apple mixture into the crust, spreading it out evenly.
- Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the apples. Trim any excess dough and crimp the edges to seal. Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
